Janet has moved across states and across continents, handled do-it-yourself moves on her own, and managed full-service relocations with her family. She has moved for school, work, life changes, endings, and new beginnings. In short, she understands every side of the moving experience, both logistically and emotionally.
She also understands the deeper side of moving. With a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University and AICP certification from the American Planning Association, she knows how strongly our sense of place and connection to community affects how successfully we transition into a new home. That understanding is at the heart of how she helps clients not just move, but truly settle in.
Using her background in planning and project management, Janet developed proven systems, checklists, and strategies that turn overwhelming moves into organized, manageable plans. She created MovinGal to change how people experience moving, replacing stress and confusion with clarity, confidence, and support.
Janet is not a moving broker. She is a moving concierge. That means she works directly with clients, side by side, building customized plans and guiding them through every phase of the move.
Clients often tell her, “You’re a miracle worker,” and “I couldn’t have done this without you.” What she brings to every move is compassion, empathy, organization, and a deep network of trusted resources, all grounded in real-world experience.
Over the past two decades, Janet has completed thirteen domestic and international moves in twenty years. She combines that firsthand knowledge with professional expertise to help individuals and families transition smoothly into their new locations and feel connected to their new communities.
